Bread and Butter
"'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Matthew 4:4
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Matthew 6:6
Baby girl never met a carb she didn't like. She would eat toast for breakfast, crackers for lunch, and a roll for dinner if only her mommy was not so bent on healthy eating.
Maybe she comes by it naturally, since I am a big carb lover myself. There are few things more tasty than a hot roll slathered with butter. I have ruined more than one meal by eating too much bread before the food ever came out. And let's be honest, I've packed on more than a few pounds that can be attributed to hot bread and butter.
The ridiculous thing is that no matter how much I eat, I always get hungry again. My satisfaction is short-lived.
But God's words satisfy every craving, every hunger, every need. They are perfect and complete in every way.
And that's better than a hot roll. Even with butter.
