Bless You!

It seems that sickness has been particularly rampant this year. The flu is everywhere which means that coughing and sneezing are everywhere, too.

And so the internal question comes: How many times do I say "bless you" if you just keep sneezing? Two? Three? Seventy times seven?

Honestly, if you sneeze more than a couple of times, I don't really want to bless you. I want to get away from you and your germs. (You say it's allergies, but I'm very suspicious of that.)

My "bless you" might could be a little more sincere.

God's is. When he blesses you, it comes with his full power behind it. He doesn't keep count, and he isn't grudging. He is generous and eager to bless.

And his blessings sometimes come in the most unlikely places and the most unlikely ways.

Sunday morning I randomly opened my Bible to Revelation 1. And there was a blessing that I had long ignored. I believe it's time to do a little reading.

"Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." Revelation 1:3
