Delight
Delight, noun. A source of great satisfaction and pleasure <the opportunity to travel was one of the great delights of the couple's golden years>
Tim and I went to keep baby girl last week. When she saw us, she grinned from ear to ear and started kicking her feet. She immediately held out her hands to be taken.
Her delight was an even greater delight to us.
And when I delight in the LORD, he apparently takes an even greater delight in me. How marvelous is that? The Father actually delights in me!
My delight:
"But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night." Psalm 1:2
His delight:
"...he rescued me because he delighted in me." Psalm 18:19
"...the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love." Psalm 147:11
"For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation." Psalm 149:4
"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
