I Miss You

I miss you.  I miss seeing your smile and hearing your voice.  Our lives are busy and complicated, and it seems that I get to spend so little time with the people who mean so much to me.  Some of you are only a mile or two away.  Some of you are a thousand miles away.  But away is away, nevertheless.

I miss you.  I wish I could see you every day.  I would love to talk with you, laugh with you, pray with you.

Why are we so remiss with the ones we love?  We certainly have the technology to be more engaged.  (Face Time is an amazing gift for grandparents!)  I could easily call or email or text.  But I don't.  And as amazing as technology is, there isn't an app for you to read my thoughts from afar.

Paul missed the Thessalonian church.  A lot.  He longed to be with them.  He longed to talk to them and encourage them and be encouraged in return.  And he did everything he could to make that happen.

I miss you.  A lot.  I long to be with you.  I long to talk to you and encourage you and be encouraged in return.  And I promise you I am going to do everything I can to make that happen.  Hold me to it.

"But, brothers, when we were torn away from you for a short time (in person, not in thought), out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you."  1 Thessalonians 2:17
