Dinner at the Blue Mesa Grill
"He answered, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind...'" Luke 10:27
Last week I enjoyed dinner with a friend from a lifetime ago. We wandered gently in and out of the years, exchanging joys and sorrows. So many memories, so many stories, so little time. The restaurant was almost empty before we finally left.
There was an amazing sweetness to the evening.
As I drove home, I thought with regret of how easy it is to lose touch with even those that we care about. But I was so thankful for being given the chance to reconnect.
It seems to me that my relationship with God is like that at times. I want to love him with every part of my being, but I fail so often. I find myself drifting away.
But he continually draws me back to himself. And I thank God once again for that precious grace that refuses to let me go.
