In the News
Generally speaking, it is best not to be on the news unless you have done something extraordinarily amazing. At this point in my life, amazing has probably passed me by. And so one of my great philosophies of life is this: Don't do anything that will get you on the nightly news. Especially the national news.
The same goes for towns. Especially small towns.
But there my little town has been. On the national news. The square has been ringed with news trucks and satellite feeds. Turn on the TV, and Diane Sawyer is talking to a reporter who is standing in front of our courthouse. Pull up the news online and there is yet another story about my little town.
And we wonder. How did it come to this? Why did evil rear its ugly head in this place? Again?
We have no answers, but we do have resolve.
This is our home.
Satan is not welcome here.
"To the angel of the church of Pergamum write:
These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword. I know where you live--where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, not even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city--where Satan lives." Revelation 2:12
